Meet Ken Rumbaugh... As an artist, graphic designer and photographer, Ken's professional focus since 2001 has been his work with professional sports organizations. In that time he has had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects with the NFL Players Association, The Negro League Baseball Museum (in Kansas City), San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Pacific Coast League Baseball, as well as our very own Portland Timbers, and scores of professional athletes.
"My experience working with professional athletes and sports organizations lends itself nicely to the ability to deliver a first class product in a high-pressure, fast paced environment. I look forward to working with you for all your photography needs."
The fall of 2011 marks a return to the world of Photography + Design after a year of service as an OSSC Red Cross AmeriCorps member placed at Sabin School. The year was spent developing school social service programs, organizing school volunteers, and leading after-school classes from sports & games to art, design & technology. In September of 2011 Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber named Ken the Oregon Volunteer of the Year for his efforts with AmeriCorps, and long-standing work with the Sabin School community. The recognition was recently highlighted in The Oregonian, and an awards banquet was held November 4, 2011 in Salem, Oregon.
"In the summer of 2010 I decided to put my professional life on hiatus and committed to a year of service as an AmeriCorps member placed at Sabin School. Ironically, my time spent at Sabin School during the 2010-11 school year quickly became the most rewarding professional year of my life."
Simply put, I love to make photographs. More specifically, photographs that allow the viewer an opportunity for a longer, closer look at a moment in time. Whether that moment is the youthful exuberance of a child at play or a father and daughter walking down the aisle on wedding day, when done well, the image immediately becomes a tangible family treasure that helps you to remember that moment in all of its vivid detail.
